The Petrified Forest offers a trip through deep time, where you find yourself walking among fallen trees that lived in the Late Triassic Period, about 225 million years ago. It’s a hell of a thing to wrap your head around. And the colors you find in the fossils and the Painted Desert landscape are amazing.
