Roger Strunk

Hi, I’m Roger Strunk.

Welcome to my base of operations on the internet. You won’t find any ads here. No sponsored content. There are no algorithms shuffling what you see. Nothing asking you to share things on the hellscapes that are facebook or twitter. No heart buttons or any way to “like” anything.

What you will find? An assortment of things I’d like to share with visitors here, rounded up under two categories: About Me and My Work. Under the About Me section, you’ll find what I’m up to, what I’m finding interesting or inspiring, where I’ve been, and other personal info and pursuits. And under the section devoted to My Work, you’ll find info about the design and illustration services I offer, samples of my work, side projects and experiments I have going, and a shop where you can purchase art, merch, and other things I’ve created.

As anyone who knows me already understands, there’s a great deal of overlap between the two categories, and I never know if someone that enjoys my work will become a friend or ally in other walks of life, or if someone that shares my personal interests will become a client or collaborator on a project. So it made sense to combine the two in one site.

And as I already alluded to, I wanted this to be an escape from social media’s toxic wastelands as the primary place where I share things, building something that I can own and operate within on my own terms, in ways that are truer to who I am and what I want to put out into the world. I hope you find it interesting and fun to explore, as a change of pace. And maybe you’ll be inspired to do something similar.

"I’ve often heard people say: ‘I wonder what it would feel like to be on board a spaceship,’ and the answer is very simple. What does it feel like? That’s all we have ever experienced. We are all astronauts on a little spaceship called Earth."

-R. Buckminster Fuller

The inspiration for the conceptual approach I took with this website’s main index, and something that I think about often—the fact that we are all on this ride together through the cosmos, on Spaceship Earth. And that it would be nice to believe we are going somewhere, that we could have a long and exciting future ahead of us, if we can somehow manage to get our act together.
